Sawks Tawk

Well, no better time to start this than now. Hired to write a daily blog about the Red Sox. Put it off for a few days at the start of the season. Next thing you know, we're 2-6. Aarghh. Nothing good to write about there. Boom, 11 wins in a row. Can't start writing now, or will jinx them. Things calm down a bit. Lose ANOTHER series to Tampa.

You know, the Red Sox owned the Rays for nine years but now things have turned around. The Rays have won the last five series, 13-7 in games. Props to them. After all those years being in last place, they deserve some good times. All right, all caught up, 15-10 going into a series at the new Yankee Stadium.

I almost cost the Red Sox this game tonight by turning on the sound on the TV!!!!!!! Things were going just fine. 4-0 lead, bottom of the 5th. Girardi gets tossed for arguing strikes (did he even say anything before the ump tossed him?) So I decide to turn on the sound to hear what's going on. BAD MOVE! Two pitches later, boom! Home run Johnny Damon. 4-2. That's it! Sound off. Too late. Teixeira homers. 4-3. Turn it off. Watch NBA game. Come back later WITH SOUND OFF and sweat bad outing by Papelbon. Barely survive with 6-4 win.

Okay, is that enough IG? You're paying me what, 10 cents a post? Make it 20 and you'll get another paragraph. END

Hallelujah, brother! This is what I'm talking about. Five in a row over the Yankees. How sweet is that? Jason Bay with another 3-run bomb. All right, got that out of the way. Now, I had a talk with the owner of this site and he wants a little more analysis, something ORIGINAL, not just cheerleading. I said okay, but you have to pay me more than the pennies you are now. So we're currently negotiating a deal. In the meantime, I've got other work to do, so that's all you get today, IG. 17-10. Woo-Hoo! END

Well that sucked. Two big wins in the big apple and we come home and get routed by the Tribe. The freaking TRIBE! The Yankees lost again at home though, so all is not lost. That's it. Still negotiating with TIG. END

12 RUNS WITHOUT MAKING AN OUT!!!! END

Excellent comeback over the Rays. Yet another three-run homer by Jason Bay. I told you people about this guy last year. He is tailored for the Green Monster. Keep it up. Gotta win this series with the Rays. END

Editor's note: This is not what we're paying you for. We need in-depth analysis. Several paragraphs for each game. Not one sentence of cheerleading. This is your first warning. Step it up or step aside - TIG

14-5. That really sucks. END

Sunday, May 10, 2009

The end of that freaking game nearly put me in an ambulance to the ER. Geez, tying run on third, nobody out, somehow Papelbon gets out of it. Is it just me or is he not effective this year as he has been in the past? He just can't seem to get an easy save. Whatever. 2 out of 3 from the Rays in a series they really needed to win. END

A day off! Woo-hoo!

Editor's note: TIG is quite disappointed in this column. He was looking for several pages of astute observations about the Red Sox and look what we have, six weeks into the season. Barely a page, most of it cheerleading and stating the obvious. TIG apologizes for wasting your time. The writer has been assigned to other tasks and we are in negotiations with a REAL writer who can take this blog to new heights. It won't be Stephen King, but it will be someone pretty close. Be patient. Yours truly, The Insane Gambler, owner of this domain and website.
