 09/11/11   Let's begin the 2011 NFL season by flipping a Lincoln penny minted in Denver in 1985 to determine the winner of the Ohio showdown between the Bengals and the Browns. Heads it's Bengals. Tails it's Browns. And the coin says heads! Take Cincinnati and 6 points.


 09/18/11   For this week's game, we're using a 1997 Roosevelt dime minted in Denver. If it's heads, we're going with the Green Bay Packers. Tails it's the Carolina Panthers. Tails it is! Take Carolina and 10 points.


 09/25/11    With a 2007 Jefferson nickel minted in Denver, we will make our selection for the NFL game between Arizona and Seattle. Heads it's Arizona. Tails it's Seattle. It's heads! Take the Cardinals and lay the field goal.

 10/02/11    Last week's push puts our NFL record at 2-0-1. We'll use a 1992 Washington quarter for this week's game between the Patriots and Raiders. Heads it's NE. Tails it's OAK. It's tails! Take the Silver & Black plus 6½.

 10/09/11    The Coin suffered its first loss of the season last week to move its record to 2-1-1. There's a big showdown in Atlanta between the Falcons and the Packers. We have a 2006 Roosevelt dime minted in Denver. Heads Atlanta. Tails Green Bay. It is heads! Take Atlanta and six points.

 10/16/11    The Falcons got off to a great start last week but fell completely apart against the Packers. The coin is now 2-2-1. We are about to flip a 2004 Michigan quarter minted in Denver. Heads it's New Orleans. Tails it's Tampa Bay. And it is...tails! Take the Buccaneers and the 6½ points and laugh your way to the bank.

 10/23/11    The coin's season record is now 3-2-1. This week we have a 2007 Lincoln penny minted in Philadelphia. Heads it's Pittsburgh. Tails it's Arizona. And it's...heads. Go Steelers minus 4!

 10/30/11    With a season record of 4-2-1 we have a 1963 Washington quarter minted in Philadelphia. This thing is 90% silver and is worth about 6 bucks! Heads it's Detroit. Tails it's Denver. And it is...tails. Take the Broncos and the 3 points. It's Tebow Time!!!

 11/06/11    So much for Tebow Time. With a record of 4-3-1, the pressure is on for a win or else we'll drop back to .500. We have a 2008 Lincoln penny minted in Denver. Heads it's Tampa Bay. Tails it's New Orleans. And it is...heads. Take the Buccaneers and 8½ points!

 11/13/11    Last week's loss puts the coin at 4-4-1. Well, what did you expect? This week we're using a 1997 Washington quarter minted in Denver. Heads it's Tennessee. Tails it's Carolina. And it is...heads. Take the Titans and 3½ points.

 11/20/11    A dominating win last week puts Flip McCoin's season record at 5-4-1. We're using the same coin as last week, a 1997 Washington quarter minted in Denver. Heads it's San Diego. Tails it's Chicago. And it is...tails. Go with the Bears and lay 4½ points.

 11/27/11    The season record is 6-4-1 thanks to the Bears laying the wood to the Chargers. This week we're using a 2004 Lincoln penny minted in Philadelphia. Heads it's St. Louis. Tails it's Arizona. And it is...heads. Take the Rams and lay the 2½ points.

 12/04/11    The season record is now 6-5-1. This week we're using a 2007 Roosevelt dime minted in Denver. Heads it's Green Bay. Tails it's the Giants. And it is...tails. Take the G-men and 7 points.

 12/11/11    The season record is 7-5-1. This week we're using a 1996 Washington quarter minted in Denver. Heads it's San Diego. Tails it's Buffalo. And it is...tails. Take the Bills and 7 points.

 12/18/11    The season record is 7-6-1. We must finish over .500!!! We have in our hands a Lincoln penny minted in 1980 in Philadelphia. It's one of those copper pennies that is actually worth a little over two cents. Is it worth the time and effort to look for them? Not only that, it's illegal to melt them down. Okay, heads it's Seattle. Tails it's Chicago. The flip is made and it is...tails. Take the Bears and lay 3½ points.

 12/24/11    The season record is 7-7-1. The pressure is on. We're using a bright and shiny Lincoln penny minted in 2010 in Denver. Heads it's Tampa Bay. Tails it's Carolina. It's a high end over end flip and it is...tails. Take the Panthers and lay 7½ points.

 01/01/12    The season record is 8-7-1. Our coin this week is a Washington quarter minted in 1994 in Denver. Heads it's the New York Giants. Tails it's Dallas. And it is...heads. Take the Giants and lay the 3 points.

 01/07/12    Flip McCoin ends the 2011 NFL regular season with a record of 9-7-1. He could rest on his laurels but NO!, he must soldier on with playoff selections. Using the same quarter as last week, a 1994 quarter minted in Denver. Heads it's Detroit. Tails it's New Orleans. Drum roll.......and it is...heads. Take the Lions and 10½ points.

 01/14/12    The Coin starts the postseason with a disappointing loss. Let's try to even the score. The Patriots are 13½ point favorites over the Broncos. A Roosevelt dime minted in Denver in 2009 will tell the tale. Heads New England. Tails Denver. And...it is heads. Go Pats!

 01/22/12    The coin is 1-1 in the playoffs. Let's try and pick the winner of the Giants-49ers game. San Francisco is favored by 2½ points.We have in our hand a 2003 quarter minted in Denver. It honors the great state of Illinois. Heads it's the Giants. Tails it's the Niners. And it is...tails! Let's go 49ers!

 01/22/12    A painful loss in the NFC Championship Game puts the coin at 1-2 in the playoffs and 10-9-1 overall. It all boils down to the Super Bowl. Giants or Patriots. We'll flip the coin on Friday, two days before the game.

 02/03/12    Here we go! It's a penny minted in Denver in 2010. Nice and shiny. Heads it's the Giants. Tails it's the Patriots. And it is...heads. Take the Giants and the 3 points. Go G-men!

 02/06/12    The Coin was victorious in the Super Bowl and ends the 2011 NFL season with a record of 11-9-1. Mission accomplished!
